Monteverde helped coin the phrase eco-tourism in Costa Rica and we are fortunate to have some of the last remaining accessible cloud forest in the world.
Three non-profit nature reserves make up the Monteverde nature zone: The Monteverde and Santa Elena cloud forest preserves and the Children’s Eternal Rainforest. A hiker’s paradise, all of the reserves in the area offer trails to fit every fitness level.
Guided or un-guided these are national treasures not to be missed. They do not require a reservation and The PSE would be happy share our expertise.
