The public bus departs 7am from La Fortuna to Tilaran. The Monteverde public bus departs Tilaran at 12pm arriving in Monteverde around 3pm. Cost is minimal around 1500 colones ($3) but the time is not, taxi boat taxi is the most convenient transport from La Fortuna/Arenal
